Junior rugby team qualifies for world tournament

 
Jamaica's Under-19 rugby team returned home yesterday from the Cayman Islands after winning the North America and West Indies Rugby Association (NAWIRA) junior tournament on Saturday.

Jamaica defeated Guyana 4-1 in the final on penalties after an even 14-14 score at the end of full time.

Hosts Cayman finished the tournament in third, Barbados were fourth, Mexico fifth and Trinidad and Tobago sixth.

Jamaica advance to the 2008 Junior World Trophy Final and will represent NAWIRA along with the United States and Canada, who received byes to the tournament. The date and location of the tournament is to be decided.
