Collymore doubtful

GROS ISLET, St. Lucia (CMC):

WEST INDIES fast bowler Corey Collymore is under a cloud ahead of the second Digicel Test against India starting today at the Beausejour Stadium.

After a troubled shoulder limited his bowling in the second innings of the first Test, a decision on his availability will be delayed until just before the start.

"I'm very hopeful. I'm more positive than anything else that he'll be able to give us 100 per cent," captain Brian Lara told reporters yesterday.

Since the first Test ended on Tuesday at the Antigua Recreation Ground, Collymore has had a chance to rest the shoulder. He did not bowl during a practice session on Thursday but was back in action during yesterday's net session.

"As a captain, when your top bowler is little bit on a questionable list, you're going to be a little wary of the situation," Lara said. "I'm concerned but I'm keeping my fingers crossed."

Lara added: "That fitness decision on if he (Collymore) is capable of playing five days is not in my hands.

"It is left with Corey and the physiotherapist. If he is available and the physiotherapist thinks that he is going to get through the game, he's definitely going to play."
