Strykers 'A' Storm Into Final

 
WESTERN BUREAU:Rally champions Mixed Strykers 'A' blazed into the final of the Westmoreland Netball Association Central Westmoreland/Roger Clarke Netball League, with a comprehensive 38-16 drubbing of Gold Star in the first of two semi-finals on Saturday.

In the other semi-final, Westlanders stopped Savannah 33-19 to book their place in the gold medal match against Mix Strykers 'A' last Saturday at The Manning's School. Gold Star and Savannah will play for the bronze medal. Match time is 2 p.m.

Mix Strykers 'A' led all four quarters with scores of 9-6, 19-8, 29-11, with the league's leading scorer, Marsha Haye, sinking 26 from 34 attempts to take her tally to 180 over the season.

Gold Stars' Ashane Allen managed seven on the day for a total of 140 goals and fourth overall.

Meanwhile, Westlanders cruised past Savannah 8-3, 16-11, 22-16 to end on 33-19, with Tianna Grant's 28 goals moving her to 143 and third spot on the goalscorers' chart, just behind Savannah's Tameta Green, with 146. G
