Bonner, Burton Now Senior Cup Centurions

West Indies and St Catherine CA batsman, Nkrumah Bonner, and St Elizabeth all-rounder, Cassius Burton, scored centuries yesterday to lead their teams to positive results in the second round of the Jamaica Cricket Association Senior Cup.

Bonner, who has represented the West Indies in two Twenty20 Internationals, made 159 in leading St Catherine CA to first innings honours over Clarendon, while Burton, hit an unbeaten even 100 to guide St Elizabeth to a 141-run win over Trelawny.

At Port Esquivel, Bonner's knock was the cornerstone of St Catherine CA's first innings total of 201 for four declared. He hit 11 sixes and four fours during his knock with left-arm seamer Krishmar Santokie taking three for 34.

Earlier, St Catherine CA resuming on 80 for four were dismissed for 127 in their first and only innings with Wayne Davis topscoring with 32.

Clarendon batting a second time closed the day on 84 for seven.

Burton's knock, in the meantime, propelled St Elizabeth to 248 for seven declared in their first innings.

He was best supported by Kenroy Williams 84 not out. Dhane Johnson three for 70 claimed most wickets for Trelawny, who in their first innings made 161 and in their second 121.

St Elizabeth in their second innings posted 175 for five declared to set up the victory charge with Daniel Ricketts topscoring with 62.

Other outstanding performances on the day came from St Ann batsman Duran White and leg-spinner Kemar Allen, who scored 112, and claimed a match haul of 12 for 104, respectively, and Melbourne leg-spinner, Damion Jacobs, who snared a match haul of 12 for 54.

At Manchester High: Manchester defeated Boys' Town by an innings and 48 runs. KSACA 66 (Andre Dwyer 4-20) & 67 (Andre Dwyer 3-4). Manchester 181-6 dec (Oshane Walters 66).

At G.C. Foster: Game ended in no result due to waterlogged field. G.C. Foster 82-3 (Derval Green 42).

At Eden Park: St Ann defeated St Mary by 92 runs. St Ann 168 (Duran White 35; Tezwayne Creary 3-12) & 258-4 dec (Duran White 112 [5x4 8x6], Xavier Marshall 59). St Mary 193 (Takeem Lowe 65, Maurice Clarke 50; Kemar Allen 7-63 [including a hat-trick]) & 142 (Kemar Allen 5-41).
