Walker Claims Double At Milex Security Champs

Jonathan Walker captured the boys' Under-13 and 15 titles, respectively, at last weekend's Milex Security Junior Squash Championships at the Liguanea Club in New Kingston. The tournament was played in a round-robin format.

The 12-year-old Walker, a member of Jamaica's team which participated at the Caribbean Championships last year in Guyana, defeated Alex Wright, Adam Ardito and Alex Casali on his way to winning the title.

Wright took home the second-place trophy ahead of Casali.

Walker also won the Under-15 competition comfortably while defeating the likes of Fraser McConnell, Nicholas Simpson and Joseph Smith.

Smith finished second ahead of McConnell.

Meanwhile, Ashante Smith won the Under-19 trophy. Smith, who represented Jamaica at the Caribbean Junior Championships in Guyana last year, recorded four victories on his way to winning the title.

The 17-year-old defeated the likes of Daniel Schwapp, Jake Mahfood, David Mullings and Julian Morrison, who claimed the second-place trophy ahead of Mullings.

Tayla Ziadie outclassed her opponents to win the girls' Under-13 trophy ahead of Mia Mahfood and Emily Wight.

David Mullings beat a strong field to capture the boys' Under-17 title. Mullings, a national representative, beat his sister, Alyssa, Scott Craig, Christian Seaga and Jake Mahfood to win the title.

Mahfood took second-place honours ahead of Alyssa Mullings.

Cameron Phang Sang took home the boys' Under-11 trophy. He outclassed Tom Casali and Seth Stultz on his way to winning the title. Casali took home the second-place trophy ahead of Stultz.
