A bumper crowd is expected to turn out at today's go-kart race meet at the Palisadoes International Raceway, Kingston, to get a close-up look at the Red Bull Formula One race car, which will be on display.

Sebastian Buemi, Red Bull's F1 test driver, along with the Red Bull racing team, will also be in action.

During the lunch period, there will be a Red Bull Formula Una (One) girls demonstration race.

Apart from the Red Bull F1 car, the presence of Brian Fong Yee should add some excitement to the racing. Fong Yee, who is attending school in the United States, will be competing in the Rotax Inter-national Class. His biggest challenge is expected from Andre Anderson and the improving Dane Lawson.

Fine performance

At the last meet, Sean Jackson turned in a fine performance to beat Peter Moodie Jr in one of the class events.

"The Baby Class 50cc events will again be exciting," said Neil Williams, president of the Jamaica Karting Association.

That class is dominated by seven-year-old Senna Summberbell who has won all three races, while another seven-year-old, Jonathan Law, was the top performer in the 80cc version of the Baby Class.

Mike Simmons has been pre-paring for this meet and it will be interesting to see how he performs against the younger men in the Rotax Masters Class.

Simmons is undoubtedly the man with the most experience at the Palisadoes Raceway, having competed there for the past 16 years. His main danger at today's meet is another veteran, Peter Rae.

Phillips Myers is expected to dominate the Rotax Junior Class and continue to improve his chances of winning the Abe Ziadie Memorial Trophy, which goes to the JKA's Driver of the Year.
